Veracio, transitioning from its roots as Boart Longyear’s Geological Data Services division, is rolling out innovative tools aimed at revolutionizing orebody knowledge within the global mining sector. These tools, encompassing TruScan, TruProbe, and Strata, represent a leap towards the digitization and automation of orebody sciences, covering the entire spectrum of exploration, resource definition, and production activities.

Central to this technological advancement is the unveiling of TruScan 2, distinguished by its HyperXRF mineralogical solution, which is seamlessly integrated into Veracio’s core scanning platform. This platform not only brings together data from both hyperspectral imaging and XRF (X-Ray Fluorescence) scanning but also boasts an enhanced Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) system. The TruScan 2 technology facilitates the rapid analysis of both chips and core samples, delivering crucial mineralogical data to project teams within a 24-hour window. Veracio plans to initiate field trials of this cutting-edge technology in early Q2, with the anticipation of the first deliveries to customers in Q3 of 2024.

Veracio’s CEO, JT Clark, has underscored the company’s commitment to innovate within the orebody knowledge domain. According to Clark, the introduction of these new technologies, combined with strategic acquisitions such as Minalyze, underscores Veracio’s ambition to transform the acquisition and application of orebody knowledge from the exploration phase through to production. This vision is becoming a reality through a dedicated team and the incorporation of novel technologies and strategic partnerships.

Further innovation comes in the form of TruProbe, an app, cloud, and hardware solution which epitomizes the integration of rig and downhole sensing technologies. TruProbe elevates the capability of Veracio’s TruGyro technology by incorporating a robust gamma sensor, enabling simultaneous logging of both borehole deviation and gamma radiation. The system’s rig components include an azimuth rig aligner and a wireless depth counter, which facilitate precise orientation and depth measurement.

Strata represents another facet of Veracio’s technological evolution, serving as the company’s advanced cloud technology environment. The year 2024 promises the expansion of Strata, aiming to augment the user experience significantly. This cloud-based system is designed to ensure that Veracio’s software offerings are fully compatible and synergistic with its hardware solutions, thereby enhancing the overall utility and effectiveness of Veracio’s orebody knowledge tools.

The strategic moves by Veracio, including the rollout of these advanced technologies, are set to make significant inroads into how mining companies approach the exploration, definition, and extraction of ore bodies. By leveraging cutting-edge technology and data integration capabilities, Veracio is not just streamlining the process of orebody knowledge acquisition but is also setting new standards in terms of efficiency, accuracy, and speed in the mining industry. This innovative approach is poised to benefit the mining sector globally, offering a glimpse into the future of mining technology and its potential impacts on productivity and environmental stewardship.
