Delta Resources recently announced encouraging drilling results from its Delta-1 gold project in northern Ontario, signaling an optimistic future for the project’s economic viability. The company reported several impressive intersections, notably from drill hole D1-24-90, which encountered 10 metres grading 15.94 grams of gold per tonne at a depth of 113 metres. This included segments of 1 metre at 57.80 grams and 0.9 metre at 99.4 grams, showcasing the project’s high-grade potential. Other significant results came from drill holes D1-24-87 and D1-24-88, with intersections of 10.5 metres at 1.66 grams and 12.2 metres at 1.05 grams of gold per tonne, respectively.

This series of results is part of a broader 5,000-metre drill campaign aimed at infilling and expanding the known gold zones within the Delta-1 project. Situated 50 km west of Thunder Bay near the Trans-Canada Highway, the project lies within the prolific Shebandowan Greenstone Belt. This region is renowned for its mineralization, with Delta’s property encompassing a significant strike length along the Shebandowan structural zone.

Delta’s efforts to drill and expand the Delta-1 project are not only revealing the continuity and quality of gold present but also significantly contributing to the area’s mining potential. CEO André Tessier highlighted the continuation of gold zone consistency and the remarkable grades encountered, particularly with drill hole D1-24-90, as a strong indication of the deposit’s lucrative potential.

Despite these positive developments, Delta Resources shares remained steady in recent trading sessions, though they have seen a notable increase over the past week. The company has experienced fluctuations in market valuation, with significant spikes following high-grade drill results previously. Moreover, the Delta-1 project has garnered attention from government entities, indicated by a granted fund of up to $200,000 through the Ontario Junior Exploration Program upon completion of exploration activities.

Delta Resources doesn’t solely focus on the Delta-1 gold project; it also operates the Delta-2 project in Chibougamau, which mirrors geological characteristics of the region’s historically productive Lemoine mine. As Delta continues to explore and expand its projects, the company stands as a significant player in northern Ontario’s gold mining sector, with the Delta-1 project firmly at the core of its operations.
