Amex Exploration Inc. (TSXV:AMX) has recently unveiled promising assay results from a crucial metallurgical drill hole within the QF Zone of its wholly-owned Perron Gold Project, situated in Quebec. This particular drill hole exhibited substantial mineralization, including 3.43% Copper, 34.00 g/t Silver, 1.80% Zinc, and 0.30 g/t Gold over a 20.80-meter interval. A second mineralized portion also revealed impressive figures of 1.19% Copper, 7.44 g/t Silver, 0.15% Zinc, and 0.11 g/t Gold spread over 15.70 meters.
Jacques Trottier, the Chairman of Amex Exploration’s Board, expressed his optimism about the QF Zone, noting its resemblance to the once prolific Normétal Mine. However, he underscored a distinct advantage the QF Zone holds: its higher copper content compared to the historical mine’s zinc dominance. Such findings not only denote a substantial upside for the project but also set the stage for more extensive research and definition of the target area.
Strategically located approximately 200 meters northeast of the esteemed Team Gold Zone and within a mere 5 km range from the defunct Normétal Mine, the QF Zone excitingly repurposes the geological narrative of the area. The Normétal Mine was renowned for its significant output, boasting over 10.1 Mt of 2.24% Cu, 5.41% Zn, 0.53 g/t Au, and 44.45 g/t Ag throughout its operational tenure.
Amex Exploration has meticulously planned out further metallurgical testing on the retrieved composites, eagerly anticipating the insightful results which are expected to emerge in the forthcoming months. These evaluations are set to shine a light on the recoverability and processing nuances of the unearthed mineralization.
Nestled around 110 kilometers north of Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec, the expansive Perron Gold Project encompasses 117 contiguous claims and sprawls over 4,518 hectares. Its advantageous location is complemented by robust infrastructure, including year-round road access, proximity to an airport, and a short distance from the town of Normétal.
Since January 2019, the team at Amex Exploration has made significant strides in uncovering not only remarkable gold mineralization across various zones within the Perron Project but also stumbled upon copper-rich volcanic massive sulfide (VMS) zones. The recent identification of high-grade copper, silver, zinc, and gold mineralization at the QF Zone further escalates the project’s prospects, hinting at a comparable mineralization pattern and potential volumes reminiscent of the historic Normétal Mine.
As exploration endeavors persevere, Amex aims to comprehensively delineate the mineralization’s extent and grade at the QF Zone alongside other promising prospects within the Perron Project’s vicinity. The impending metallurgical test outcomes promise to augment our understanding of the mineralization’s characteristics, potentially steering the Perron Project towards a prosperous future of development.
